Bournemouth wins best beach award
ITS seven miles of golden sands and seaside attractions have helped Bournemouth win the best beach in the UK award.
Readers of Coast magazine voted for Bournemouth after assessing its water quality, scenic beauty, wildlife, visitor attractions and outdoor facilities.
The Coast Awards were set up to recognise the people and places that represent all that is innovative, valuable and exciting around the British coastline, with eight coastal experts on the judging panel.
Coast editor Clare Gogerty said: "It is great to see Bournemouth picking up this award. It is an extremely popular beach with our readers who go there for its seven miles of golden sands and great facilities.
"I'm very pleased that the beach adds a Coast award to its other accolades."
