A TWO-DAY golf event is being held in Poole to raise money for disabled adults and children.

Dorset disability charity Diverse Abilities is joining former professional golfer and TV presenter Peter Allis to host a three-course gourmet dinner at the Haven Hotel in Sandbanks on September 27, followed by a shotgun start golf tournament at Parkstone Golf Club on September 28, with a bacon butty breakfast on arrival and post-golf buffet lunch.

Many other celebrities including Harry Redknapp, Tiff Needell, Willie Thorne and Owen Oldroyd will be guests at the dinner, which also includes an auction, raffle and entertainment.

Lauren McCullough, events manager at Diverse Abilities, said: “This is an exclusive opportunity to dine and play golf with Peter Alliss and his celebrity friends. We are extremely excited to be hosting this fantastic event and are sure it is going to be very popular.”

BBC Sports commentator Peter Alliss, who is hosting the event and was the Professional at Parkstone Golf Club for 13 years, said: “Parkstone Golf Club is a wonderful club very close to my own heart. Do come and join us for what promises to be a fabulous event while raising money for a very worthy cause.”

Tickets for the two-day golf event for a team of three is £850, which includes the gala dinner and golf tournament. Teams will be allocated a celebrity as their fourth team member.
