DORCHESTER Sports go into their final match before Christmas at Hamworthy United Reserves (2pm) feeling confident after winning their last six games.
Sports are looking to stay at the summit over Christmas but need to win make sure of that, with Hamworthy Recreation and Westland Sports one and two points behind respectively.
Sports’ boss Ashley James said: “It is going to be another hard game, they are on a good run of form. We have got to be well up for it again.”
The prospect of being top over Christmas is motivation for the side, James said: “We are desperate to keep that top spot over Christmas for a couple more weeks and give us more confidence going into next year’s fixtures.”
“We have just got to keep it going now we have just got to keep exactly the same, the last six games have built up to hopefully this last one now before Christmas.”
The side are boosted by the return of Will Turland who has 18 goals this year while Joel Hewitt, who has five this season, has returned from injury while Luke Gatehouse is unavailable.
Speaking of their return, James said: “The two have got a lot of goals in them as well so that is a massive boost getting them back into the squad for tomorrow.”
