A MAN who stole hauls of alcohol from Co-op stores in Bournemouth and Poole has been spared jail.

Stephen Rolfe, 28, targeted the convenience stores in a crime spree which lasted more than a month.

On February 5, he stole alcohol to the value of £150 from the Christchurch Road store in Bournemouth.

On February 12, he stole alcohol to the value of £104.50 from the Charminster Road store in Bournemouth.

On February 13, he stole six bottles of Casillero Del Diablo, nine bottles of Yellow Tail Merlot and two bottles of Yellow Trail Shiraz amounting to £144.50 from the Charminster Road store in Bournemouth.

On February 14, he stole a variety of items to the value of £550 from the Christchurch Road Store in Bournemouth.

On March 4, he stole ‘several bottles of alcohol’ to the value of £277 from the Co-op in Queens Road in Bournemouth.

On March 8, he stole alcohol to the value of £308 from the Oakdale Road store in Poole.

On March 9, he stole a variety of items to the value of £185.50 from the store in Christchurch Road in Bournemouth.

Rolfe, of Richmond Park Crescent in Bournemouth, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on March 11.

He was sentenced for the multiple charges of theft, having pled guilty to them all.

The defendant was also sentenced for breaching an existing criminal behaviour order on eight occasions.

This related to him entering Co-op stores which he was banned from visiting under a criminal behaviour order made on October 31, 2023.

Rolfe was handed a 16 week prison sentence, suspended for two years.
