A THIRD man has been locked up for a drunken attack outside a Bournemouth nightclub that broke a man’s jaw in two places.

Tyrone Zimmer, 19, was sent to a young offenders’ institution for 12 months yesterday for punching victim Carlos Neuenschwander in the 3am brawl.

Two pals, including promising Bournemouth University student Curtis Sanderson, have already been jailed for their part in the assault near the Chilli Whites nightclub in Fir Vale Road.

It left Mr Neuenschwander unconscious on the ground and needing metal plates in his jaw.

The row with another group of young men kicked off at around 3.45am on November 1, Bourne-mouth Crown Court heard.

Zimmer threw two or three punches and pulled Mr Neuenschwander to the ground, prosecutor Matthew Jewell said.

Then friends Sanderson, of Commercial Road, and Paul Dollery moved in to punch and kick him.

Zimmer, a painter and decorator of Perth Road, in Gosport, pleaded guilty to charges of causing grievous bodily harm, threatening behaviour and other public order offences offences.

Paul Fairley, mitigating, said Zimmer was shocked by his own behaviour and had given up drinking.

Sentencing, Judge Samuel Wiggs said: “This case was a tragedy both for Mr Neuenschwander, who sustained a serious and lasting injury, and for you three – all of whom had far too much to drink.”

Zimmer’s role was in the general punching and tussling, Judge Wiggs said.

He added: “I sentence you on the basis that you were part of a pack attack on Mr Neuenschwander, and punched him probably as he went down.

“There is no evidence that you yourself caused direct injury.”

In June, Sanderson and Paul Dollery, 19, of Orchard Grove, in Portsmouth, admitted GBH and were sent to young offenders’ institutions for 14 and 16 months respectively.
