HOLT UNITED 3 BALTI SPORTS 3

BALTI Sports ended their entertaining campaign in the Dorset Premier League with a six-goal thriller at Holt United.

Holt stamped their authority on the contest from the outset, scoring twice in the opening 10 minutes.

But Balti then settled and Ethan Devaney produced a free-kick which flew over the wall and into the top corner to pull a goal back for Marco Nott’s men.

Devaney was then adjudged to have been felled in the area, giving Sports the chance to level the game up from the spot.

Regular penalty taker Charlie Kenderdine charitably gave the ball to birthday boy Ricky Lane, who converted for his 30th goal of the season.

With the contest well poised at 2-2, Karl Dean then teed up Kenderdine to find the bottom corner and turn the game on its head to make it 3-2 to the away side before the interval.

Holt then levelled things up once more shortly after the break but the drama was not over as Balti’s Tom Grattidge was sent off on the hour mark for handling the ball on the line.

Luckily for Sports, the resulting penalty was put over the bar as the game finished 3-3.

Balti’s first campaign in the division ends with Nott’s troops bagging fifth spot.

Balti: A Nott, Batchelor (Hicks), Anderson, Grattidge, Pearce, Kenderdine (M Nott), Litherland, May, Devaney, Dean (Taylor), Lane.
