COACH Mark Carter revealed he will not be part of the set-up at Bridport next season, having confirmed his resignation to the club this week.

Carter had led the Bees’ side until the end of the last campaign on an interim basis, after Trevor Senior stepped down as manager at the start of April.

Speaking about his exit from St Mary’s Field, Carter, who claims he has still not been in contact with new boss Adam Fricker, told Echosport: “I contacted the club to tell them that I have stepped down.

“I had two good years there with Trevor and had a good time as a player down there as well.

“Trevor is a top man and a real gentleman of the game. I have played under of him as well and when he asked me (to join) it was an easy option to go down there with him.”

He added: “The new manager has obviously got his own team and I have heard nothing from him.

“There are no hard feeling there whatsoever. In management, teams come in and people go.”

The former Bees’ assistant also revealed that he has explored other options with regards to coaching positions around the area.

Asked if he had decided on his future, he replied: “I haven’t yet but have spoken to a couple of people.

“I will make my mind up and see what I want to do.”
