PORTLAND Town held the second part of their two trophy nights at the George Inn on Portland.

More than 50 trophies and medals were handed out to the winners.

In the inter league, Portland Town’s own in house league. Pete Williams, manager of billiardsboutique.com, collected the

trophy and medals were handed out to the top 15 appearances holders.

Next came the club’s reserve side with the big winner being Danny James, who scooped captain’s player and manager’s player. Elliot Gould was the recipient of three awards for the first team with most appearances, joint players’ player with Chris Stones and captain’s player, selected by Aarron Riley, who himself picked up manager’s player. Karl Edgar won goal of the season.

The vets saw Mal Birch pick up players’ player and manager’s player, while Mike Orchard won captain’s player. Stu Wadner claimed goal of the season, winning with just one vote from Barney Barnes.

The club’s top awards were handed out as the evening progressed with Lewie Dolan claiming big prize. He was named player of the season and will be added to the club’s honours board.

Speaking about Dolan, club co-founder, Andy Barber, said: “His commitment, willingness to help out any team, play in any position required, as well as he’s obvious ability, is what earned him the accolade of becoming Portland Town Football Club’s overall player of the season.”

Other big winners on the night were Paul Barber who was named managers’ manager. Ben Miller was best newcomer, Adam Sedwell won chairman’s player and Jack Stone was named most promising player.
