Unfortunately the weather got the better of us today. Feel sorry for @AFCPortchester for wasted trip. #toofoggy pic.twitter.com/CZoEImOTUr

BLUES’ boss Gary Bailey confirmed to Echosport that his side’s scheduled Sydenhams Wessex League clash with AFC Portchester has been called off due to poor visibility at Grove Corner.
The match referee arrived at the ground and, with low cloud causing havoc with conditions, deemed the game was not fit to go ahead.
Explaining the situation after the abandonment, Bailey said: “It’s low cloud really.
“Cloud has come down and sat right on top of the island. You could not see across the pitch.
“I was stood behind the goal at the clubhouse end and you could not even see the halfway line.
“The officials walked around and I said about giving it time to clear. They said they had checked the reports and there was no wind or rain to blow it off.
“He said you could not see the diagonals and it would be too dangerous. The ball would just be dropping out of nothingness on top of players.
“Standing there I think they made the right decision.”
