BOSS Adam Fricker labelled Bridport;s crunch derby at home against Sherborne tonight (7.45pm) as “massive” for the club.

The Bees have been stuck in a rut since the middle of December, going on a dismal 10-game losing run.

The Bridport manager believes hosting the rock-bottom Zebras gives his side a platform to stop the rot, but will not be taking the encounter at all lightly.

“Right now, Sherborne are probably the favourites going into the game, to be quite honest,” he told Echosport.

“It is a massive game, our biggest game of the season without a shadow of a doubt and it’s a game we have to get something from.

“We have to get the first goal and build from it, be strong and be difficult to break down. Creating chances isn’t an issue of us, we have created chances all season.

“Defensively, as a team is where we need to improve and we know that – you only need to look at the goals we are conceding to see that as well.”

Andy Martin and Alan Hill are expected to be unavailable for Bridport, who currently sit eight points ahead of the bottom two in the league.

n Bridport Reserves travel to title-favourites Holt United in the Dorset Premier League tonight, while Dorchester Town Reserves host Gosport Borough Reserves at the Avenue in the Wyvern League (both 7.45pm).
