WEYMOUTH boss Jason Matthews was left frustrated by his side’s draw with Hayes & Yeading United but conceded that it was “a fair result”.

The Terras were held to a 0-0 draw by the relegation-threatened candidates but Matthews says he can’t blame any of his players.

He said: “It’s a little bit frustrating not to win it because I think we had the better of the play.

“On Saturday a draw was a welcome point for us, whereas tonight it was a little more frustrating but I can’t fault the effort of the players because it was hard to get any of our passing game going with the state of the pitch.

“Fleets (Stuart Fleetwood) hit a post from the angle but none of our opportunities were clear-cut chances, although I did feel that we had the better of the chances over the game. I think a draw was a fair result.”

The draw saw Matthews’ side take their unbeaten run to six, and while the manager is pleased with the form, he is left frustrated at the continued inability to turn draws into wins.

He said: “We’ve been quite consistent but we’ve also drawn quite a few games. On the whole if we could have turned some of those draws into wins we wouldn’t be in the situation we’re in.

“We play to win every game but in this league there are no easy games and this game proved that.”
