FORMER Dorchester Town defender Matt Oldring has been snapped up by Southern League Division One South & West Wimborne Town.
Oldring, who was in the same AFC Bournemouth intake as Danny Ings in 2008, this week unexpectedly left the Avenue with midfielder Franklyn Clarke, who has since signed for Salisbury.
Oldring was vice-captain at the Southern Premier outfit and a hugely popular figure with the Avenue Stadium faithful, due to his wholehearted approach.
Following his release by the Cherries in 2010, Oldring, 24, had stints with Weymouth, Hamworthy United, AFC Totton, Verwood and Bashley together with a 12-month spell in the Queensland State League in Australia with Whitsunday Miners.
