BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker is delighted to confirm the return of striker Tom Richardson from Portland United.

The powerful frontman, who exited St Mary’s Field to join up with the title-winning Blues last season, is set to head back to his old stomping ground next term.

And Fricker, who is hopeful a good number of his current squad will also be retained, is delighted to get Richardson back on board.

Asked about the signing of the striker, the Bees’ chief told Echosport: “He was someone we wanted to keep last season but he went to Portland.

“He is a Bridport lad and was someone we were in contact with but he chose to stay with them until the end of the season, which was understandable.

“But he made it known as soon as the season finished that he would like to meet up and come back if possible. We met him, had a chat through, and agreed everything.

“It’s a good one for us because it’s that little bit of experience we are looking for. We are pleased to get that one done and dusted, to be honest.”
