BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker is looking to end his side’s midweek curse when the Bees travel to Bridgwater Town in the Toolstation Western Premier Division tonight (7.45pm).

Having enjoyed good results on a Saturday in cup and league competitions, Bridport have suffered poor form in midweek and Fricker is keen to rectify that this evening.

He said: “It would be nice to get that little bit of consistency and go on a little bit of a run, it’s just getting over the midweek games.

“We’ve got the FA Cup on Saturday and the FA Vase next week. It’s important that we do pick up points in midweek games and we don’t want to lose ground.

And Fricker is focused on stabilising the Bees’defence, which has conceded 12 goals in five games.

He said: “Bridgwater are going to be decent. They’ve kept the majority of the squad and I know a couple of their players. We have a team that creates a lot of chances at the moment. If we can shore our defence up I think we’ll be a lot more comfortable.”

Fricker confirmed that Alan Hill is absent with an ankle injury, while Braeden Symes returns.

He said: “Alan is out with an ankle injury, we don’t know how long that’s going to be for. He has an outside chance for the FA Cup. Braeden Symes will be back.”
