BALTI Sports manager Marco Nott admits he doesn’t know what to expect when Hamworthy United Reserves visit Weymouth College for their Dorset Premier League clash tomorrow (3pm).

Hammers have appointed Nick Collins as their new manager as Nott is consequently wary of his opponents being an unknown quantity, but does expect a youthful line-up.

He told Echosport: “We feel very confident. They are usually quite a young side. We drew at theirs last year and it was quite a good game.

“They’ve got a new manager and I don’t know what to expect really. We’re pretty good at home and we can play our football on a nice, big pitch.

“Hopefully we can get off to a good start and see it out.”

Nott last week revealed his side’s defending from long throw-ins during the 5-4 win over Blandford United was “worrying” but the Balti boss says his players have worked to rectify that in training.

“We did do that in training for 20-30 minutes. Hopefully we’ve sorted it. It’s just a case of clearing it. When the first one went in it was coming at us every five minutes.

“It was never really an issue before but it was just one of things where it happened on Saturday and it worked for them,” he said.

“We trained on Tuesday this week. It’s nice to have a bit of a rest. A few lads had tight hamstrings and we’ve been forcing them to play, really.

“Hopefully they come in a bit more refreshed and raring to go,” he added.

Nott is set to welcome back a host of players for the fixture and also welcomes new signing Dan Austin, formerly of Portland United, to the fray after two years out.

He said: “Ricky Lane is unavailable, but Simon Proffitt is back from cricket. Sammy Nicholls is back and Josh Burton is too. The only one that sits out is Matt Roberts. He hasn’t recovered from his groin injury.

“We won’t make too many changes but we might have to make a couple because Ricky is out.

“Dan is a new signing. He hasn’t played for a couple of years as he went away with work. He was with Portland before and he’s got some good experience.

“He’s a centre-back who can play central midfield and we’ll try and speed up his fitness.”
