Parley FC 3

Dorchester Sports 4

Dorchester Sports picked up a superb comeback victory away at Parley FC after being 2-0 down to arrest a run of three away defeats.

The match started badly for the away side as Parley started brightly and put Sports under pressure with good ball in to the channels.

The pressure told as Sports keeper Antony Frost was judged to have taken down Mikael La Ronde in the Box and Matt Newbury made no mistake from the spot after ten minutes.

Parley remained on the front foot and had Frost to thank for keeping the score at just the one goal behind with three good saves.

Sports had a penalty shout turned away before a Symes shot was well saved and Richard Beasley missed a chance from two yards out to keep the score at 1-0 at half time.

Dorchester tried to regroup but Parley went two up with Newbury notching his brace from close range shortly after half time.

Ashley James’ men now had it all to do, and captain Symes began the comeback with a 20-yard strike on the hour.

The captain’s headed flick on then found Will Turland who raced through to draw level.

Another long range effort from Symes gave the away side the lead for the first time in the match after 70 minutes.

Turland then went through one on one but was taken down by Tommy Freeman on the edge of the box for which Freeman was shown a straight red card.

Symes then stepped up to place the free kick into the back of the net to complete an incredible hat trick and give his side a 4-2 lead.

Parley weren’t done yet as they pulled a goal back on 82 minutes but Dorchester held on to claim all three points.

Manager Ashley James said: “It was a very much needed three points. We have struggled away from home in the last few games”

“The comeback was very special to come back from 2-0 down away from home.”

Looking ahead to the next match James said: “We need to keep going, another tough one against Mere away from home, we’ve got to get another three points and get some momentum going.“

Sports: Frost, Heal, Steele, Lochrie, Read, White, Symes, Samways, Will (Harvey 72), Turland (Hewitt 72), Beasley (Rawlings 55).
