WEYMOUTH have succeeded in luring Poole Town striker Warren Bentley to the Bob Lucas Stadium.

Bentley, who scored 17 times in 35 National League South games for the Dolphins as they were relegated last season, is the second striker to sign with the Terras this summer after another former Poole hitman Tony Lee.

Bentley will now join Lee in linking up with resident forwards Brandon Goodship, Ben Thomson and Harry Baker under the management of Mark Molesley, who admitted he had "courted" the marksman for some time.

In a statement on theterras.com, Molesley said: "I think you can never have enough goals in the squad. He’s a player we’ve courted for some time, even before I was manager, and we’ve kept a keen eye on him.

“He brings something different to the table and I think you can never have too many striking options. We are delighted to have him on board. He adds to our already great striking options with Brandon, Harry and Thommo already here.

“It’s a big thank you to the Wessex Fantasy Football for helping us to bring a player of Warren’s quality to the club."

Bentley is a former Winchester City captain and also had a brief spell with National League South side Hungerford Town in the 2017/18 term.
