PORTLAND United manager Brendon King says he would be more concerned if his side were not creating chances as they prepare to travel to Lymington Town in the FA Vase first round of qualifying tomorrow (3pm).

King’s side lost 2-0 to Bitton in the FA Cup preliminary round stage despite having dominated the game, creating chance after chance against their opponents.

King said: “We will go in there full of confidence after last week’s performance.

“I would have more of a worry if we were not creating chances but we are creating chances and we know that we will come good and we will take them sooner rather than later.”

King knows it will be a tough game and praised the Linnets, who also play in the Sydenhams Wessex League Premier Division, ahead of their clash tomorrow.

King said: “It is going to be a tough game.

“We know what we are going to get with Lymington, they are big, strong and physical and they have got some useful players so it is going to be a difficult game.”

The Blues are still waiting to see if Lewis Whyton and Sam Buckler are suspended for the contest, while Ross Doidge will face a late test after coming off last Saturday with a slight hamstring injury.

Aston Butcher is back from suspension, Steve Walker returns to the squad after being cup-tied last week and Max Buckler is back.
