BALTI Sports manager Marco Nott admits their match against Dorchester Sports is probably the best fixture for both teams, as they prepare to face each other in the preliminary round of the Dorset Premier League Cup (3pm).

Last year, Balti reached the semi-finals of the cup before losing 3-1 away at Westland Sports, while Dorchester Sports fell 3-2 in the first round to Shaftesbury Reserves.

Nott said: “It is probably one of the toughest draws you could face really. Both teams know each other quite well. It is certainly going to be a tough game.

“It is always a good fixture Balti versus Dorchester Sports.

“We had a nice little cup run in the league cup last year so you have got to beat the best teams to win it so it is going to be a tough task definitely.

“It is probably the best fixture in the league for both teams.”

Charlie Kenderdine, Ricky Lane and Josh Burton are absent. Oscar Preece is serving a suspension for two yellow cards picked up in the Balti Sports Reserves’ 1-0 defeat to Upwey & Broadwey in Division One of the Dorset League at the weekend.

Liam Taylor will miss the match due to a leg injury picked up in the 1-1 draw against Portland United Reserves on Tuesday, August 28.

They face a Dorchester side that have their restored their confidence again following back-to-back wins in the Dorset Premier League after sustaining three straight losses.

Sports boss Ashley James said: “We are positive now going into the Balti game tomorrow. We knew we had a good chance to get maximum points against Corfe and Wareham, we were hoping to get maximum points.

“Confidence looked like it was back. We had Jamie Samways back, which was a massive boost. We had our goalkeeper back Anthony Frost, which is also a massive boost.”
