PORTLAND boss Brendon King anticipates a difficult game against Team Solent tomorrow (3pm) as he expects their side to be at full strength with university students returning in the Sydenhams Wessex League Cup second round.

King admitted it is nice to play Solent earlier in the season when they are without their full quota of players.

King said: “It is always nice to play them early in the season because they have not got their full quota of players available. But now the university is back I would imagine they will be at full strength and when they have got their full lot to choose from they are always a very, very difficult side.”

Crit Clarke will be back available after he completed an ironman challenge last week. Alex Halloran will be missing and the club are still waiting to find out the full extent of his injury. Sam Buckler and Lewis Whyton are still unavailable due to suspension while Lewis Clarke and Ross Doidge are still injured.

Portland go into the match off the back of a 3-0 victory at Cowes Sports, which saw Alex Halloran suffer a bad ankle injury.

King added: “We played well last week, we want to take that performance into tomorrow for sure. It was a good performance and in terms of personnel it is not much different.”
