YEOVIL Town Ladies have made a generous offering to help support and encourage attendance in their upcoming fixture against Spurs Ladies.

The Glovers have announced that as part of their ever-expanding work in the Somerset community and beyond, they are set to offer free entry to all Dorset FA clubs for Sunday’s Continental Cup game against Tottenham Hotspur Ladies (3pm).

As with all Yeovil’s home games this season, the match will be staged at Dorchester Town’s Clayson Stadium.

By being the county on Yeovil’s doorstep – and where Yeovil now play their home games – this presents a unique opportunity for Dorset’s upcoming football talent.

Yeovil Town Ladies player and club community officer Annie Heatherson, said: “To have the opportunity to work with the main county surrounding Dorchester Town FC, where we play our home games, is massive for Yeovil Town Ladies as these youngsters have a professional team right on their doorstep.

“These are the young bright talent of this country and the south west is lucky enough to have a high standard of women’s football.

“Dorset is just one county on our doorstep. I’m so excited to also have Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Wiltshire close by and my main aim and focus is to work very closely with all five counties as these guys hold the future talent of our county and potentially our country.”

At Dorset FA, Justine Mosley is the women’s and girls’ development officer. She said: “It is exciting for Dorset teams, especially within the female game, to be able to see top level women’s football being played within the county.

“The players at Yeovil are fantastic role models for all young female players so we are pleased to see the club embracing that and offering our teams free entry to the game.”

The Continental Cup match will kick off at 3pm at Dorchester Town and if the match is level after 90 minutes, each team will get a point and there will be a penalty shoot-out to decide which team will receive a bonus point.
