LULI Loveridge has rounded off a successful summer with a third England call-up and will represent the country at the English Pony International next month on her 13.2 dun pony Arrow Head Quiver.

Loveridge, from Broadwinsor, is the only child to be picked twice to ride for England and her appearance next month will further elongate her own record.

Loveridge said: “It is competitive and it is quite exciting being able to get ready with all of the other three people who are riding for England.

“It is exciting being with Mia Palles-Clark the Chef d’Equipe as well and just getting the rumps and jackets and everything.”

Her first two appearances for England proved very successful, being part of the squad that earned two golds at the Irish and the Welsh internationals.

Discussing her record, Loveridge modestly suggested her stats probably were not fair on others, but emphasised her excitement at getting the call-up.

Loveridge said: “I didn’t think it was going to happen.

“I was quite shocked and excited when we got the text from Mia because I thought I have been on the England team twice, I have won gold twice I do not think I should be on it again.

“I don’t think it is fair for everyone because no one else has ridden for it two or three times.

“But it was really exciting getting the text and knowing I was going to be riding for England again.”
