SCOTT Mitchell picked up a win on his PDC Euro Tour debut, before losing to eventual champion Dave Chisnall.

Scotty Dog came through a tough battle with fellow qualifier Andy Boulton to kick-off his Hungarian Darts Trophy challenge, pinching a 6-5 win against X-Factor.

That set up a big Saturday night clash for the Dorset thrower, taking on number one seed Chisnall in round two.

Mitchell competed well in front of a bumper crowd in Budapest, hitting a 180 in the first leg, only for his throw to be broken.

The 53-year-old hit straight back in kind, before Chisnall pulled clear to win 6-2, averaging 96.63, compared to Mitchell’s 90.25.

The St Helen’s star went on to win the whole event, his third Euro Tour title of the year, with a thrilling 8-7 victory over Luke Humphries in the final, who hit a nine-darter in defeat.
