ROMAIN Faivre is unlikely to play again this season, due to a hamstring injury.

The Frenchman missed Sunday’s defeat at Aston Villa due to the issue and underwent a scan.

While the full prognosis is still to be determined, boss Andoni Iraola does not expect Faivre to play again in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Iraola told the Daily Echo: “We have done the scan.

“We still don’t have the results, but I think he has a small injury.

“He will be out for some time I think.

“It was a hamstring. It doesn’t look like a big one, but the end of the season is there, so it is a matter of how he recovers.

“But it is going to be difficult. I would put it in the same place as Sini (Luis Sinisterra).

“Probably a smaller thing, but it is later, so he should be there.”

Faivre, a £12.8million summer arrival from Lyon, spent the first half of this season on loan at FC Lorient.

The 25-year-old was recalled to Cherries in January, to allow David Brooks to join Southampton on loan.

Faivre has played five times for Cherries, all as substitute cameo appearances.
