AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will be switching on Wimborne's Christmas lights this year.

Leading up to the switch-on there will be music and entertainment in the town, with a stage in the Square hosting a variety of musicians and choirs between 10.30am and 4pm on Saturday, November 24.

At 4.30pm, Eddie Howe will press the switch to turn on the town's festive lights.

Town mayor Cllr Kelly Webb said she was "thrilled" the former Queen Elizabeth's School pupil was taking part in the event.

"I’m thrilled that Eddie is coming back to Wimborne Minster for this very special day. He is a well loved and respected football manager locally and it’s great to have him give something back to the community in this way," she said.

Wimborne Minster Town Council and Wimborne BID are sponsoring the Christmas lights.
