DORCHESTER Town assistant-manager Trevor Senior admitted he is a “big fan” of midfielder Billy Lowes and believes the Magpie to be underrated.

During the summer, Lowes signed for his second consecutive season at the Clayson Stadium and has made 68 appearances for Dorchester, scoring nine goals.

The midfielder has also made more appearances than any other Magpies’ player this season.

Lowes has gone on to establish an excellent partnership with Harry Kite and Luke Winsper in midfield and, despite scoring just twice in 21 games amid the current campaign, Senior stated his admiration for the former Weymouth man.

He told Echosport: “Billy always has a good game. I’ve been here now 18 months and he’s probably had one shocker in all the time I’ve been here.

“He just digs away and gets around the pitch, does his thing. He gives it away now and again but I think he’s one that just blends in and doesn’t get noticed.

“I’m a big fan of Billy’s, I think he does really well, gets on with it and he’s got a goal in him.

“He hasn’t scored for a few weeks, but with him, Harry and Luke they’ve formed quite a good little three in that midfield.

“They’re playing some good stuff. Billy’s getting forward a bit more now as well, whereas he was playing the holding role before.”
