THE majority of traffic lanes at Poole's Hunger Hill junction will be open in the lead-up to Christmas.
Work will be carried out under peak conditions from Monday, December 10, until Christmas Eve in a bid to ease congestions during the festive period.
And from Christmas Eve until Monday, January 7, no work will take place.
The £11.7m project to completely reconfigure Hunger Hill junction forms part of the wider Townside scheme.
Work, which is expected to take nine months to complete, started early October.
The northern section of West Quay Road (between Marston Road and Holes Bay Road) will be closed on December 16 and 17 so that the road can be re-surfaced. Traffic heading out of town on Holes Bay Road will need to use Marston Road and West Street instead.
