BRIDPORT RESERVES 3

CORFE CASTLE 2

BRIDPORT Reserves fought from two goals down to record a fantastic 3-2 victory over Corfe Castle in the Dorset Premier League.

Corfe opened the scoring after 10 minutes from a simple corner that was nodded in at the far post for the visitors.

The Bees’ decision making in the final third meant for a quiet half for the Corfe goalkeeper.

Corfe doubled the lead after 19 minutes when a long ball was misjudged by the Bridport defence and the striker was able to run through and beat Billy Fleet in the Bridport goal.

The half ended with the Bees 2-0 down, but after some choice words at the break Bridport were able to respond.

With 66 minutes on the clock, Robin Jones pinged a great cross for Alf Ward to nod powerfully into the net.

After 78 minutes, Bridport were level with a superb shot from Josh Hull.

Yet the Bees would emerge with a late winner.

A goalmouth scramble ended with Ryan Gall firing through a crowd from six yards out and into the net to hand Bridport the victory.

The result leaves the Bees eighth and able to finish as high as seventh but are guaranteed to finish ninth at worst.

Bridport Reserves: Fleet, J Scadding, Gall, Baggs, Strelley (McAllister 65), Leader, Ward, Hull, Baker, Jones, Hunter.
