MARTINSTOWN’S Ed Nichols does not think there are any issues with confidence, as the Villagers prepare for a trip to last year’s Dorset Funeral Plan Premier League champions Wimborne & Colehill tomorrow (1pm).

Martinstown sit second from bottom in the table, with one win in their four games so far this year but face a Wimborne side one place above them with also one win so far.

Nichols said: “There are not many easy games in this league. We don’t feel, certainly in the two games at home so far, that we have done justice to ourselves but away we have done alright, especially with the bat.

“So I don’t think there are any issues with confidence. We know that we have got big games coming up so I think the guys are optimistic.”

Nichols also praised the Wimborne ground, and acknowledged their difficult start to the season.

He said: “It is a great place to play, the Leaze, so we will enjoy going there, it is a really good ground.

“It has been a bit of a mixed start for them but they seem to be turning it around now and obviously they are a quality outfit, they seem to have a solid top order still. I see Colin Randall scored 100 last week so they will have some confidence in their batting but we have had some really good games there in the past but normally have fallen just short.

“It is a good place to play. We are fairly confident in our side and hopefully we will get a result on the board and get back to winning ways.”

Lee House, Frazer Hill, Matt Camp and Mike Kennedy-Barnard return, while Tom and George Pope plus Jack Kane and John Stewart are out.
