BEAMINSTER captain Ross Baker is seeking to maintain the high standards displayed by his charges ahead of entertaining Shaftesbury at the Memorial Ground in County Division Two action on Saturday (1.30pm).
Baker, who was absent as Beaminster crushed Puddletown by six wickets last time out, has emphasised the need to remain inwardly focused against the County Division Three champions.
Speaking to the Bridport News, Baker, who this week reclaims the captaincy from the unavailable Rich Runyard, said: "They came up last year and I think they had a stronger side last year – it sounds like they've lost a few players.
"We just need to focus on our game and keep our standards high.
"Even though we haven't got the results up until now, last Saturday proved we're in a good place and playing some good cricket.
"Hopefully if we can keep our standards high we've got a good chance of winning at home."
Baker is one of three players coming into the side, with youngster Will Murley and wicketkeeper-batsman Chris Lamb replacing Ollie Bareham and Lewis Keenan.
Beaminster: Crawford, King, Baker, Swift, Jones, Lamb, L Gurd, A Moss, W Moss, W Murley, James
