MARK Molesley says he cannot wait to see Warren Bentley back on the pitch, as he paid tribute to the ex-Terras’ striker.

Bentley scored one goal for the Terras last season to earn a point at home against Hartley Wintney, but his spell at the Bob Lucas Stadium was dominated by a heavy concussion injury he suffered during training.

The injury ruled him out for the rest of the season, before he joined Weymouth’s former league rivals Salisbury during the close season.

Molesley told Echosport: “It was circumstances beyond our control with Warren, it didn’t quite work out the way we would have liked. Unfortunately he sustained that bad injury and it took him out from us really.

“We wish Warren well, he is a great player and a real good lad.”

Bentley was with the squad, although not in a playing capacity, on the final day of the season as they sealed promotion to the National League South with a 3-0 win over Farnborough.

Molesley is eager for the day that Bentley returns to the football pitch however, even if it will not be in his Weymouth team.

Molesley said: “Unfortunately sometimes these things don’t work out quite how they should do but we wish him well and I cannot wait to see him back out on the football pitch.

“To see him come back out on the football pitch will be a great day for everyone.”
