A BIKER seriously hurt in a crash between Westbourne and Bournemouth has died of his injuries.

As reported, the casualty – a 54-year-old man from Bournemouth – was involved in a collision at the junction of Clarendon Road and West Cliff Road at 8.35am on Sunday, May 26.

Witnesses said a green Volkswagen Sharan collided with the biker's blue Yamaha motorcycle. The motorcycle then collided with a green Peugeot 307.

The air ambulance landed on the West Cliff shortly after the crash.

However, despite the efforts of the emergency services and doctors, the casualty died yesterday, Sunday.

Members of his family are being supported by specially-trained officers.

A 25-year-old man from Nuneaton in Warwickshire was arrested on suspicion of driving offences. He has been released under investigation as officers continue to make enquiries into the collision.

Sergeant Nikki Burt, of the traffic unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

“We are continuing to investigate this collision to establish the full circumstances of what happened."
