POLICE have appealed for help to identify a woman after the theft of a wallet from a Bournemouth supermarket.

They have released CCTV images after the wallet was left in the self-service tills in Asda at Castlepoint.

It is believed that the next customer to use the till the wallet, at 12.35pm on Monday July 15.

It contained £125 in cash, 50 Canadian Dollars, a bank card and a set of house keys.

Police Constable Alan Brown, of Bournemouth police, said: “It may be that the wallet was picked up by mistake or a genuine attempt was made to hand it in somewhere. However, so far the wallet has not been returned to the owner.

“As part of my investigation I am releasing a CCTV image of a woman who I would like to speak to as she may have information on where the wallet is.

“I would ask anyone who knows who the woman pictured is to contact Dorset Police.”
