A NEW £750,000 food and homeware store is due to open for business at Poole's Tower Park today.

The Food Warehouse, described as "Iceland's bigger little brother", is creating 30 new jobs and will offer shoppers the value of a wholesale, cash-and-carry style store without the need for membership.

Every customer visiting the store today can enter a free prize draw to be in with a chance of winning a great selection of prizes, including home appliances.

The Food Warehouse will offer fresh and frozen food across more than 3,000 product lines and a selection of homeware items will be sold on a "When it's gone, it's gone" basis.

It was launched just five years ago and is one of the UK's fastest growing brands with more than 100 stores across the UK.

Several stores are set to open in the coming weeks, including one in West Quay in Southampton.

Speaking about the new Poole store, Kristian Barrett, Operations Director for The Food Warehouse, said: "We’re delighted to be opening our new store in Poole. The Food Warehouse is an innovative store format, responding to the changing needs of shoppers by offering amazing bulk-buy deals and homeware offers alongside a fantastic range of frozen, fresh and chilled foods."

The Poole store opening hours are Monday to Saturday, 8am until 8pm, and Sunday, 11am until 7pm.
