A GROUP of men attacked a man and a woman after being thrown out of a Bournemouth nightclub.

Police have appealed for information after the pair were assaulted and struck with an object in an early hours attack in Bournemouth town centre.

Emergency services were called to Old Christchurch Road at around 3.30am on Sunday December 1.

The group then returned to the Old Christchurch Road area a short time later, where a further altercation occurred. The man and woman were allegedly assaulted and struck with an object. Enquiries are ongoing to establish what the object was.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area. Three men from the London area, aged 24, 25 and 27, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and have been released on police bail while detectives continue to make enquiries into the incident.

Nobody involved required hospital treatment.

Detective Constable Katie Spyrou, of Bournemouth CID, said: “This is an ongoing investigation and I am appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information that can assist us to please get in touch.

“I understand there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and from our enquiries we believe people may have recorded some of it on their mobile phones. I would urge anyone who has any footage to contact us.

“I am also keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Wootton Gardens area in the early hours of Sunday 1 December 2019.”
