POLICE hunting an offender who robbed a man in his 70s after following him from a Bournemouth cashpoint machine have interviewed a man.

The incident took place at around 9am on Friday September 20 in Stamford Road in the Southbourne area.

It was reported that the victim withdrew £400 from the Lloyds bank cash machine on Southbourne Grove and following the transaction was asked by an unknown man for some change, which he refused.

The victim was then allegedly assaulted in nearby Stamford Road and the cash was stolen from his pocket.

Following a CCTV appeal to identify a man detectives were looking to identify as part of their investigation, a 21-year-old man from the Ringwood area has come forward and has attended a police interview. He is assisting with enquiries. No arrests have been made.
