FENITON 2
LYME REGIS 4
LYME Regis maintained second position in the Macron Devon & Exeter League Premier Division with a 4-2 comeback victory at Feniton.
Gerard Hitchcock’s men fell behind in the first half as Aaron Pearse netted for Feniton, who dominated the opening portion of the match.
Feniton exhibited some fine passing football but ultimately struggled to create another gilt-edged chance.
The Seasiders came back at Feniton, with a barrage of crosses into the home box going unrewarded as Lyme had to settle for a 1-0 deficit going into half-time.
After a lull at the start of the second half, Cody Bowditch bagged an equaliser for Lyme on the hour.
His goal turned on the ignition boosters for the Seasiders as Fred Parsons and Ben Vine extended the visitors’ lead to 3-1 – Lyme having scored three times in 15 minutes.
Brad Rowe put the seal on the game late on from a quickly-take free-kick before Oscar Walsh bagged a consolation, slotting past Brett Garner when one-on-one.
Lyme face a top-of-the-table clash at leaders Okehampton on Saturday (2.15pm), with four points separating the teams, although Argyle have a game in hand.
