AN INVESTIGATION into possible water pollution from cosmetics company Lush's Poole factory discovered a blocked drain.
The Environment Agency carried out inquiries amid fears of contamination from the site in Witney Road.
A communications officer for Defra, The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, told the Daily Echo: "I can confirm we are investigating this report and have contacted Lush at its premises in Witney Road, Poole."
The outcome of the investigation has yet to be officially reported but a spokeswoman for Lush told the Daily Echo: "This has been fixed - it was leaves blocking a drain at the back of one of our units.
"We have been in regular contact with the Environment Agency and they are aware of what we have done to clear and fix it to prevent it from happening again."
The company's environment policy states: "We believe taking care of the environment is everyone's responsibility including all of our staff and our customers."
