A CAST of talented performers have been assembled to appear in an evening of songs from the musicals which will raise money for Macmillan Caring Locally.

One Night Only, to be held at the Barrington Theatre in Ferndown on Sunday February 2, was created by 20-year-old Georgia Scott in memory of her grandfather Reginald Barrett, who passed away two years ago from lung cancer.

Featuring songs from much-loved musicals including Annie, Les Miserables and We Will Rock You, this feel-good evening will pay tribute to Reg and anyone battling with or caring for someone affected by cancer.

Reg, who lived in West Moors with his wife Joan, was a loving and caring father to daughters Sue and Caroline and his granddaughters Georgia and Laura.

Georgia said: “My grandfather was a huge support to us as we grew up. He always made sure he was in the front row for all the shows we performed in.

“We’re so happy to be able to support Macmillan, the charity that looked after him so well by putting on this performance. Many of the cast have also been touched by someone with cancer, so it’s a cause we can all feel very passionate about.

“We’re excited to be performing in aid of this amazing charity and hope lots of people will join us to enjoy a night at the musicals.”

The cast of One Night Only have all given their time and services for free, and all proceeds from the performance will go direct to Macmillan Caring Locally.
