POLICE were called to reports of people carrying possible firearms in Three Legged Cross.
Armed response officers and the police helicopter attended to search for the suspects.
A post on the East Dorset Facebook page said: “At about 12.15 hours Sunday June 28, police attended an incident at Three Legged Cross.
“Due to the nature of the call armed response officers and the police helicopter supported local officers to search for persons seen carrying possible firearms.
“Despite an extensive search no persons or weapons were located. Our enquiries to identify the persons involved continue.
“To reassure the community there was no other information to suggest that the persons sighted were involved in any other incident.”
