A YOUNG motorcyclist from Dorchester has died in a crash with a pickup truck.
The 20-year-old, who had attended the Thomas Hardye School, died at the scene of the collision on the A286 Birdham Road near Chichester.
The crash happened just after 5pm on Wednesday.
The driver of the truck, a 27-year-old man from Midhurst, was not injured.
The incident involved a grey Toyota Hilux and a green Kawasaki motorcycle.
Police, fire and ambulance crews attended the scene and the air ambulance was called to assist.
Officers placed markers on the road as they investigated the crash and a section of the road was closed until midnight while they worked at the scene.
