THREE deaths involving coronavirus have been confirmed in Dorset hospitals, latest figures reveal.

Data released by NHS England shows that three deaths have been recorded since the last update.

Now, the total number of deaths with coronavirus in Dorset hospitals stands at 349. 

This is the total number recorded since the beginning of the pandemic.

The deaths occurred at the University Hospitals Dorset Trust on December 31, January 1 and 2, taking its total to 287.

30 have been recorded at the Dorset County Hospital and 32 at the Dorset Healthcare Trust since the start of the pandemic. 

Across England, a further 582 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 52,395.

Patients were aged between 29 and 103 years old.

All except twenty-five (aged 56 to 101 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
