A FURTHER eight people have died with Covid-19 in Dorset’s hospitals.

NHS England figures show eight new deaths were recorded by University Hospitals Dorset on January 6, 7 and 8.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the trust has now recorded 313 Covid-related deaths.

A total of 36 people have died at Dorset County Hospital after recording a positive test, with 35 deaths reported by the Dorset Healthcare Trust.

Across England, a further 508 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 55,580.

Patients were aged between 24 and 103 years old.

All except 22 (aged 40 to 93 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
