A MAN has been arrested after a BMW collided with parked cars, leaving four vehicles damaged.

Dorset Police were called to Charminster Road at 8.05pm on Saturday, March 16 after an incident involving the black BMW M5.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene and said the collision involved two cars with passengers and three stationary cars.

Bournemouth Echo:

A witness said the crash took place between Claremont Road and Luckham Road East.

He said a car crashed into another before ‘slamming’ into the parked cars.

Ambulance attended the scene and took one person to Poole Hospital. 

A 43-year-old man from Bournemouth was been arrested on suspicion of driving offences but has since been released on police bail.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report 8.05pm on Saturday 16 March 2024 of a collision in Charminster Road in Bournemouth involving a black BMW M5 and a number of parked vehicles.

“Officers attended the scene and, following enquiries in the vicinity, a 43-year-old Bournemouth man was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

“He was subsequently released on police bail as further enquiries are carried out.

“There were no reports of any serious injuries.

“Officers left the scene at around 11.45pm.”

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWAST), said: "We were called at 20.08hrs on Saturday 16 March to a road traffic collision in the Charminster Road area.  

"We sent an operations officer and two double-crewed land ambulances to the scene and conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Poole Hospital.”
