A MAN was left with serious injuries after an ‘assault’, with a woman arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Dorset Police received a report of an assault in the area of Emberley Close in Ferndown at around 9.55pm on Friday, March 22.

The man, aged in his 30s, sustained serious injuries and went to hospital for treatment.

After inquiries by officers, a 28-year-old woman of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

She was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

It is believed the arrested woman and the man are known to each other.

Now, detectives investigating the alleged assault are appealing for witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward.

Detective inspector Rhys Griffiths, of Dorset County CID, said: “Detailed enquiries are underway to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity during the evening of Friday 22 March 2024 in the areas of Emberley Close or Bolton Crescent.

“Also, I would appeal to any residents with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, as well as motorists travelling in the vicinity with a dashcam fitted to their vehicle, to please check their footage for anything of relevance.

“There will be an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are carried out and officers can be approached by anyone with information or concerns.”
