A WOMAN was sexually assaulted outside a shop in a high street before being followed onto a bus and ‘touched inappropriately’.

Hampshire Police received reports that the woman, aged in her 20s, was touched inappropriately outside Boots Opticians in Lymington High Street at around 10.30am on Monday, March 18.

It was reported that her hair, hand and shoulders were touched in an inappropriate way without her consent.

She boarded a bus moments later and the man followed her.

During the bus journey, she was inappropriately touched again.

No injuries were reported, but Hampshire Police have now launched an investigation and the force would like to speak with potential witnesses.

The county force has released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries into this sexual assault.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “Were you in the area at the time? Did you witness any suspicious behaviour? Do you recognise the man in the CCTV image?

“He has been described as being aged between 25 and 35, 5ft 7ins tall, of average build with short black hair and facial hair. He was wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and grey and white trainers.”
