OSCAR Latas admitted that nothing really went for Bridport as he reflected upon their 1-0 defeat at home to Brislington at the weekend.

Latas, alongside Leighton Thomas, performed well in the defeat and proved to be one of the Bees’ most consistent threats going forward.

Latas said: “They had just one chance and they just scored really.

“Nothing seemed to go for us, we had a penalty which did not go in.

“It just was not our day.”

The match saw tempers frayed, with both sides having their technical areas spoken to about the language being used towards the referee.

Latas said: “It was a bit fiery but you expect that in these conditions. It was just one of those.”

Latas admitted that the conditions impacted their play but said the Bees still should have performed better than they did.

Oaklan Buck struck in the 48th minute to hand Brislington the lead, yet Latas earned a penalty in the 47th minute which Mark Salter missed.

Latas said: “We are quite a good footballing side and then we were not able to play our game the way we usually do because obviously the ball was skidding a bit more but we still should have performed a little bit better and changed our play.”

When asked what the mood was like in the dressing room following the match, Latas said: “Not good, just tried to pick our heads up for the next game really.

“The manager just said we have got to be better for the next time, put our chances away and that is about it.”
