PORTLAND United manager Brendon King says the Blues are under no illusion about what he expects from them as they prepare to host Tadley Calleva tomorrow in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division (3pm).

Last time out, Portland were heavily beaten 6-2 by Bournemouth Poppies and King says they expect to put it behind them and move on.

King said: “They were spoken to at half-time and after the game on Saturday so they are under no illusion of what we expect from them and certainly putting that performance behind us and moving on.”

King said that there could be changes following the performance last week but he has a full squad to pick from with Darren Watts returning, and Lewis Clarke the only absentee.

King said: “There could be changes ahead after last week’s performance so it gives us food for thought.”

The Portland boss praised Calleva after their strong start to the season following promotion to the division, as they currently sit in fourth place.

He said: “They have obviously come up this season and they have had a really good start so they are a half-decent side. It is going to be another tough game for us.

“It would be nice to get the three points but we have got to earn it and we did not earn it enough last week.

“That obviously cost us, so first and foremost we know we have got some talented players, but we have got to defend better as a unit and let our attacking, flair players get on the ball.”
