BALTI Sports have swooped in to secure the signature of Portland United defender Ash Smith.
Smith, who last weekend turned out for the Blues' reserves, is understood to have trained with the Weymouth-based Dorset Premier League side in midweek.
The right-back joins another fellow former Portland player, striker Sanchez Baker, at Marco Nott's side after the forward moved in the summer.
Sports announced the move on social media this morning.
Speaking to Echosport regarding the capture of Smith, Nott spoke of Smith's "quality".
He said: "He's stated that he wants to come over to Balti. It's a really good signing.
"You could tell at training the quality he can give us, he's played at a high level.
"He's also won the Dorset Premier League many a time. It's great for Balti to sign that calibre of player – it's given the lads a boost."
Smith could make his Balti debut in Sports' home clash with Wareham Rangers on Saturday (3pm).
