BALTI Sports’ boss Marco Nott is relishing the prospect of playing underneath the lights at Dorset Premier League rivals Sherborne Town Reserves tonight (8pm).

The fixture has been brought forward at the Zebras’ request, with Balti agreeing to the revised date at short notice having been contacted five days before the contest.

With Sports looking to stretch their unbeaten run to 12 games, Nott admitted his side were “keen” to play when asked about the hastily-arranged game.

He told Echosport: “I got a phone call Saturday morning and it was a case of getting the game out of the way.

“The lads are keen to play and it’s always nice playing under the lights. It’s very much an unknown but we’re aiming to get three points.”

Asked what he found so attractive about evening fixtures, Nott said: “It’s just the league we’re in, you don’t often get the opportunity to play under the lights. There’s something about it.

“It’s just a good occasion, everybody is up for it and it beats training!

“It’s always a tough place to go. We beat them first game of last season convincingly. Prior to that I don’t think we beat them up there.

“We welcome a couple of players back as well and we’ve got competition for places.”

Danny Andrews is out for up to three weeks with a chipped ankle bone, while Sammy Nichols (work) also misses out.

However, Charlie Kenderdine, Ricky Lane and Simon Proffitt return alongside Oscar Preece and Liam O’Shaughnessy.
